Powerful dynamic control and deep levels of creative sound design features to explore and build your own sound worlds.
The Engine
3 stylistic themes (Sci-Fi Noir, Lovecraftian Horror and Steampunk) are divided into 5 instrument types that include all manner of sonified gadgetry, gaslamp dissonance and thematic soundscapes.
Instruments Types:
Aerophones: Wind instruments and anything that vibrates with air pressure.
Friction: Resistance of one object/instrument moving over another to produce sound. Bowing, scraping, pad-like sounds, etc.
Struck: Percussive sounds such as bells, pianos or anything that is struck to produce sound or noise.
Soundscapes: Sounds that may or may not be tonal and give a sense of environment or mood.
Machines/Movements: Arpeggiator and sequenced driven patterns or other movements programmed in the Warp Wheel.
User Interface:
Expert mode enables the user to explore deeper into the interface to manipulate sounds and create their own imaginative presets. Each instrument offers 8 channels of unconventionally sourced, dynamically layered samples plus 8 channels of multi-dimensional sampled synthesis. There are 3 pages of effects including Shape, Color and Ambience. Quickly and easily sweep through combined effects such as Spectral Filters, Distortion, Modulation and Spatial parameters using the visual XY Effector display.
In Performance mode, 6 Macros allow you to assign any parameter for individual preference and finely tuned performance control. The Warp Wheel (the heart of Acousmatic Engine), allows you to store 3 variations of each instrument and record automation of movements and transition effortlessly into new sonic dimensions, expanding the sonic depths and allowing the sounds to breathe and come alive.

The Arpeggiator/Sequencer page features a 32 step Pattern Editor with 5 different articulations. When activated, the Warp Sequencer button bypasses the Arpeggiator and transforms into a sequencer for modulating the Warp Wheel.
Incredible dynamic control warping between variation states of sound layers and effects using the Warp Wheel. Record and play back automation on the fly, and much more.
Combine ‘Acoustics’ samples and ‘Electrics’ synthesis to create beautifully flexible and unique sounds that expand the possibilities of what is traditionally done in samplers or synths alone. Utilize powerful per channel effects such as Harmonic Resonance and Grain/Time.
Assign several global parameters to fine tune and enhance functionality. Choose several parameters to assign to each of the 6 Macros and assign its range for preferred control over instrument dynamics.

“I used a ton of the foley/SFX layers form Kinetic Metal & Kinetic Toys in a horror trailer cue I did in 2021 that was just used in the trailer for Talk to Me.. I also used the synthesis engine to create some beds as well... I thought you might enjoy seeing some of your handiwork, as those samples are a big part of what made the cue really stand out when they were looking for the right piece of music.
I hope you continue to develop instruments, and/or release sound libraries, you have a genuinely unique sound that lends itself to horror in a fantastic way.”
— Justin Crosby (Music for ‘Talk To Me’ Movie Trailer)
